Relaxing Massage

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment for muscle and body pain, chronic pain syndromes, or injuries.  Bowen Therapy is performed at New Earth Therapy by Dr. Michelle Marcoux, ND, who received her training from Dr. Manon Bolliger, ND, at Bowen College in Vancouver, BC.

How does Bowen Therapy work?

Bowen therapy is a series of rolling motions done on the skin over nerve and muscle bundles in order to release tension in the muscles, fascia, and nervous system.  Bowen therapy is gentle and non-invasive and has no known contraindications.

Some of the potential benefits include release of chronic tension patterns held in muscles or fascia, relief of pain or tension, increased blood and lymph flow, relaxation, improved sleep, improved mobility and function of muscles.

How often do I need a treatment?

This will depend on the nature of your concern, but most people will experience relief or improvement of symptoms within 2-4 treatments.  Treatments are usually done weekly and are typically 45 min long, although later treatments are sometimes shorter, depending on what is being addressed.

How do I book in?

If you are interested in having a Bowen treatment done, please book a Naturopathic Adult Initial Visit with Dr. Marcoux, ND, and indicate during your booking that you would like to have a Bowen treatment.  Dr. Marcoux, ND will adjust your intake accordingly and ensure that there is time during the intake to do the initial Bowen treatment, which is an introduction of Bowen Therapy to the body, and is the same for everyone.  From there, you can book follow ups specific for Bowen treatments only.
